AMY COHENPresident Amy Cohen spent twenty years as a social studies teacher. Seventh grade World Geography was the course she taught most consistently and counts Katie Korsyn among her former students. Cohen currently works as the Director of Education for History Making Productions, a documentary film company. Her younger daughter, Chloe, was adopted from Guatemala in 2002. Since then, she and her family have visited the country several times and are in touch with Chloe's foster and birth families. |
BRENT GRAYTreasurer Brent Gray taught math and computer science for 15 years, after a 7 year mini-career in corporate law. Brent currently works as a software developer at an education technology company. Brent's family is grateful to include three children adopted from Guatemala -- his two sons and a nephew. |
KAREN CHENEYVice President Karen Cheney is a communications professional who has lived and worked in Central America. She writes speeches and articles for CEOs of large companies and handles their social media. She was pleased to visit Sueños in Antigua and was deeply impressed with the resourcefulness and dedication of the staff and the meaningful work they are doing. She has two daughters and lives in Jenkintown, PA. with her husband. |
KIARA JACOBYKiara Jacoby is a creative peacebuilder and facilitator currently working as an events coordinator at The ImPact; a global nonprofit helping families make socially and environmentally conscious investments. Kiara became connected with Sueños in 2017 as an intern while studying at Arcadia University pursuing an M.A. in International Peace and Conflict Resolution and a B.A. in International Studies. Since then, Kiara has aided Sueños in fundraising, program development, communications, and spent a summer in Guatemala to support Sueños' growth. She loves to go on hikes with her rescue dog Spackle, sing opera, and cook big meals for the people she loves! |
JULIANA COLLAMERJuliana Collamer works in sustainability for Nike, focused on building circular waste solutions. She previously spent five years in the nonprofit sector working in program management and fundraising for youth development and education organizations. Juliana has an MBA from Duke University and a BS in public health from GWU, where she met Katie Korsyn as freshman-year roommates! She lives in Oregon with her husband and a sweet black cat. |
SUNNY REARDONSecretary Sunny is a Philadelphia native currently working in New York City at a technology company focused on expanding access to accurate information across industries and verticals. As a student at the University of Pennsylvania, she was the president of CityStep, an arts and social impact organization created to unite college students and elementary school children in Philadelphia through dance mentorship and self-expression. She met Katie early in her college career through Amy Cohen, and spent six weeks volunteering with Sueños in Guatemala. |

Diane PalmerDiane Palmer has been an educator most of her life as a teacher, administrator, curriculum writer, teacher trainer in civic education in several countries of Latin America and elsewhere. She lived and worked in Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, and Ecuador for many years. Most recently she returned to Guatemala to be General Director of an international school in Antigua, and then became involved with Suenos and Katie. She lives just outside of Boston. |
