Community, Music, and Dreams: Fundraising with Heart

This summer has been extra special for Sueños. We opened our doors to the community in Guatemala for the very first time with a Kermés at our learning center in Antigua, Guatemala!

Families, friends, and neighbors came together to enjoy a joyful day filled with games, delicious food, and laughter, all for a great cause. Every plate of food sold, every raffle ticket purchased, and every hand extended brought us closer to our goal. We are thrilled to share that we raised Q7,000, exactly what we had hoped for!

But more than reaching our financial goal, the true treasure of this first event was the connection we built with our community. Local entrepreneurs, small businesses, and generous friends made the event possible by donating food and supplies. For us, this support means we can continue keeping our doors open and our programs running for the children and families of Sueños. 

And across the ocean, our dreams were lifted by music! In Philadelphia, a group of talented artists donated their voices and their art in a beautiful Benefit Concert for Sueños. We are deeply grateful for their generosity and for the community of friends who came together in support of our mission.

Both in Antigua and Philadelphia, these moments reminded us of the power of unity. When people come together with food, with music, and with heart, dreams take flight.
With so much to celebrate, we’re excited to keep the momentum going! Giving Tuesday is just around the corner, a day to come together and make a lasting impact for the children and families of Sueños.
